I am an Astronomy Professor at Valongo Observatory Astronomy Department of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I was previously an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at the Carnegie Observatories (2008-2011) and before then completed my PhD at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California.
